Recently, the reigning champion of Strictly, Carlos Gu, shared his thoughts in an interview with GB News during the TV Choice Awards about potential new hosts. Gu, who clinched victory last year alongside former professional footballer Karen Carney, offered an intriguing suggestion that could shake things up.
"You won't believe this, but I had a dream last night about the perfect duo to host the show," Carlos revealed on Monday. "When I woke up, I thought they would bring such great energy and style to the program. I envisioned Angela Scanlon and Ashley Banjo as the new presenters! They would make a fantastic team—very fashionable, vibrant, and full of life."
While this pairing hasn’t been widely discussed among other potential candidates circulating in the media, it’s worth noting that Angela Scanlon has her own experience on the dance floor; she participated in Strictly herself in 2023, where she was partnered with none other than Carlos Gu, finishing in a commendable sixth place.
Ashley Banjo, on the other hand, is not just a talented dancer but also a skilled choreographer and presenter. The Diversity star has garnered attention for his work on various dance shows and has made guest appearances on multiple programs.
In addition to discussing potential hosts, Carlos Gu and his co-star Amy Dowden took the opportunity to chat about their upcoming tour, titled "Reborn." The duo expressed palpable excitement about their joint venture, with Amy sharing, "We just wrapped up a meeting to finalize everything, and it's exhilarating to be back on the road touring together."

When asked about the name of their tour, "Reborn," Amy explained, "It's a reflection of what’s happening in our lives right now. Carlos has transitioned to living in the UK from China, while I'm overcoming my cancer diagnosis and getting back on the dance floor. Plus, we can't forget Carlos's triumph last year!"
